Posted by admin | Under Raw Diet, Raw Food Wednesday Aug 26, 2009Okay so today’s tip is a biggy. It is about changing who you are and how your react something. We as humans react alot of times on emotion. Now, don’t get me wrong here. Emotions are healthy and awesome, but sometimes when we are having a problem, trying to change a habit, or pattern our thought processes and ingrained reactions get in the way. Some times it is something we are taught, some times it is due to a bad reaction we have had. What ever the case, these limiting thoughts can cause you to not get where you want to be. That does not have to do with just raw food.
This pertains to all areas of your life. Think about it, if you spend your time telling yourself I can never get enough calories on raw food, then you will not do that. But if you say to yourself how can I get enough calories on raw food, then your brains starts to working and realize that nuts and coconut and avacados are going to be where you get that heavier dense food.
Just an aside usually when you are saying stuff like I will never get enough calories it is because you are feeling hungry. You are probably not, most of us eat till we are stuffed not just full and comfortable. So these heavier foods will help to make you feel that dense feeling.
Back to the thought processes at hand. Check yourself and listen to the talk you are telling yourself and others. Is it negative alot of I can’t, that won’t work, I never, I don’t have? If so try changing how you talk to yourself. Become aware and when you catch yourself in a negative tone, change the wording with phrases like how can I, what if I tried, I will, I am blessed with!
This is an invaluable lesson that so many still do not use to this day. The information is out there, but if we tell ourselves we can’t then we will never see what is right in front of us.
Raw Food Beginnings Tip of the Day
Posted by admin | Under Raw Diet, Raw Food Sunday Aug 23, 2009Wow the week flew by. Today’s tip of the day is about hydration. Right now is the hottest time of the year for those of us on the Northern Hemisphere. It has gotten to 110 easy on alot the days near where I live. So hydration is a really big issue. I know that alot of people think that you just need water if you are going to rehydrate yourself. Or maybe they have seen a gatorade commercial and think that is what they need.
Well hydration is about more than that. Just a reminder that when we sweat, we are losing minerals as well as water. So here are some good raw food tips to help you stay hydrated during the hot summer days while also making sure that you get back some minerals as well.
A personal favorite of mine is watermelon. Any melon will do, but I really do love water melon. They do have some minerals, but they have such a high water content they help to keep you going. Not to mention a great sugar boost. I would recommend eating melons alone as they digest quicker than other foods.
Another great one is coconut water. A recipe I use is just get one young thia coconut, drain the water into the blender, take out the meat and add that to the blender. Blend, add some honey or agave or some stevia and a little vanilla and ice. Makes a great milk and really adds back what you lose when you sweat.
Roobios or red tea is also a hydrator. And eating chia seeds can help you to stay hydrated. Hope you find a way to beat the heat and stay nurished and hydrated.

What Percent Raw Food Are You?
Posted by admin | Under Raw Diet, Raw Food Monday Aug 17, 2009Okay so it seems now days that if you are eating a raw food diet eventually you come across someone that is going to ask you this question. “What percent raw food do you eat?” Well that might be all well and good, but do we really need to go there.
What happens if you are a beginner and are just starting out. Okay so you have like maybe 40% of what you eat now for raw food. If you get that question, it makes you wonder well am I doing something wrong? And then there are those that are well meaning that tell you things like you have to be a 100% raw or you can’t eat that, because you can only have fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds. Now think about what you are telling that person. They are not good enough or they are not doing it right or they are not going quick enough. I think it is time that we support each other, no matter where we are on that journey. Yes advice and what you are doing is great, but do not be so closed minded that you block someone else’s message to you, or make someone feel less than in tune with their needs. Especially if you are new. And if you are new take it at your pace and where you feel you need to go. It is your journey and no one else can walk your path, they can join you, but the steps to take are your own.
I found this video this weekend on Raw Model’s blog and loved it. I just had to share. I love Daniel Vitalis anyway, when he speaks I get his message on a deeper level and feel the connection that he purposefully creates with others. Enjoy! =D

International Green Smoothie Day!
Posted by admin | Under Raw Diet, Raw Food Friday Aug 14, 2009How very exciting. Tomorrow is the 2nd annual International Green Smoothie Day. This day is designed for all people interested in good health. You do not have to be a raw foodist to enjoy this one. This is also a great one for beginners because it is a way to experience the great way to enjoy raw foods.
If you have never experienced a green smoothie now is the time. The basis is that it is a fruit smoothie with some from of greens added to it. Now I know the first time I heard of this, I thought you are going to put some banana and spinach in a blender mix it up and drink it. That is nuts, I bet it taste awful. Well I was wrong. It is about the amounts of fruits to greens you use. As well as what greens you use when you start.
My recommendation is to go to the website listed below and check out their information on green smoothies and get involved in the three day challenge. And if you have never tried a green smoothie. Tomorrow is the day.
Raw Food Beginnings Tip of the Day
Posted by admin | Under Raw Diet, Raw Food Thursday Aug 13, 2009I had a tip for the day all planned out. However, something else has come to my attention. So that will be what I write about today.
Raw foods is more than just food. It is about seeing what is really there. It is about experiencing life. Taking in what is there and fully emersing into the world around you. Wether you believe this or not, you do at some point become more aware of the what is around you. Maybe it is the fact that you notice food in a whole new way or yourself, but whatever that change is, it does occur.
So the tip of the day is to take the time to notice the beauty in everything around you. Also to notice it in everyone. Become more open to what is around you and experience all that is offered to you. Become one with the energies around you and if you can tap into that.
If you are having a hard time with this. Take a look at some of the kyrelian photos of live food verses dead. It will help you to tap into this beauty and feeling. I am not saying go out and start looking for auras. It is cool if you can do something like that, but I am not talking about magic or anything like that. Just the beauty that surrounds us everyday that we take for granted or seem to busy to notice. =D

Posted by admin | Under Raw Diet, Raw Food Wednesday Aug 12, 2009Having a craving for something not raw? Looking for an alternative to your cravings? Here are just a few tips. Need something salty. Try eating some celery. It is high in sodium, which is what most people want need when they are craving salty. Also it is crunchy and most people reach for chips when salty is what they want anyway.
Okay so salty is not your thing, you are craving sweet. Try melon, watermelon, catalope, or honeydew have alot a great sweet taste. And melon digest in about 20 minutes so it is great to eat alone.
Not looking for salty or sweet and you need a good dose of fat. Try some avacados. Awesome fat and it is so very healthy for you. It has more potassium than a banana, plus vitamins B, E, and K. Not to mention that it has been shown to help lower the bad cholestrol in your system.
And all so yummy, you will be craving raw foods in no time. Mmmm avacados!!! =D

Posted by admin | Under Raw Food Tuesday Aug 11, 2009Always save and back up your work. Just lost two hours of work on the site when the web browser decided to crash. Seriously though, the tip of the day is just add in something green to your diet. Find something that you like celery, lettuce, kale, spinach, cucumbers, something and just add it in.
Eating raw foods does not have to be a big hassle or a big deal. Changing can take time, so for today all you have to do is try something or add in something you already like. Baby steps, no one I know learned to fly before they learned how to just basicly get around.
Enjoy! =D
